Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard

Course Description

The Children, Young People & Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard is for anyone who is working with children, young people, and families including carers, residential children’s homes, or residential special schools to allow them to achieve a positive and sustainable change in their lives.

The typical duration of this apprenticeship would be around 24 months, depending on your existing knowledge, skills and behaviour.

You will cover the 6 C’s, Care, Compassion, Courage, Communication, Competence, and Commitment within this qualification.

Within this Apprenticeship Standard, you will need to achieve –

  • BTEC Diploma for Residential Childcare Level 3
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 2 (if you don’t already have Maths & English at Grade C or above).
  • 20% Off the Job Training.
  • A valid DBS.
  • Portfolio of Evidence consisting of no more than 25 pieces of evidence.
  • End Point Assessment – this consists of an Observation of practice, which normally is around 60 – 90 mins, there will be a 10-minute discussion to outline what will take place, followed by the observation, then a 15 – 20 min question and answer at the end. There is then a Competence Interview which will take 55 – 60 minutes, focusing on the work covered in your Portfolio of Evidence.
